Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
Published: July 7th 2014 by Orion
About the Book:
Eleanor is the new girl in town, and she's never felt more alone. All
mismatched clothes, mad red hair and chaotic home life, she couldn't stick out
more if she tried.
Then she takes the seat on the bus next to Park. Quiet, careful and - in
Eleanor's eyes - impossibly cool, Park's worked out that flying under the radar
is the best way to get by.
Slowly, steadily, through late-night conversations and an ever-growing stack
of mix tapes, Eleanor and Park fall in love. They fall in love the way you do
the first time, when you're 16, and you have nothing and everything to lose.
Set over the course of one school year in 1986, Eleanor & Park is
funny, sad, shocking and true - an exquisite nostalgia trip for anyone who has
never forgotten their first love.

"She looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something."
Review:
From where do
I start? This book was so good! First of all I loved how realistic it was. It
wasn't just love at first sight. They kinda hated each other and then they
slowly fell in love. I love how they barely talked at first yet they already
interacted in so many ways, reading together in the bus, lending comics yet
they only talked once or twice by then. Also they still focused on the way
Eleanor was dealing with her family which was nice to see because you'd be surprised
how many people around you have serious problems which you don't get to see.
My favorite
part was when Park's mother accepted Eleanor as family after relating with her
and her big family and it made my eyes water.
The ending
though. I loved this book and I get how Rowell didn't want them to have a
perfect ending but still it was so heartbreaking to see them like that in the
end. Overall the writing was beautiful and the character development was really
good.
